The lecture highlighted the sever impact of the economic crisis on the developing countries at large, and the poor population of the world in particular.  It has been estimated that 200 million of the poorest people in the world are going to be subject to hard economic conditions, in light of the economic measure taken by the G20 and other countries in the world.
It also emphasized the significance of the role of the state in the economy, as one of the indispensable approaches to limit the scope of the economic crisis and using its tools to control its impact.
